Job Description: This job will allow you to experience the science involved with managing waste, the art of writing permits, and offer you the opportunity to assist in the enforcement of our laws and regulations established to keep our citizens and environment safe. Job Responsibilities: Manage permitting of scrap tire haulers and scrap tire processors Craft exemptions for certain beneficial uses of regulated wastes Coordinate enforcement cases with our 5 regional offices Conduct on site evaluations of scrap tire processing and end-user facilities Provide technical guidance for scrap tire management to citizens and/or facilities Assist management of enforcement related projects, such as contracted cleanups of illegal waste sites. Job Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree and 0-4 years of relevant experience The ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license. Preferred degree program would include a combination of the following: Environmental Science or Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Geology, Forestry, Soil Science, Ecology, Wildlife Management, Agriculture, Animal Science, Natural Resource Management, Soil Conservation, or a closely related field. Work 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. schedule, with occasional overtime required. Statewide travel, averaging one or two days per month. This may also require overnight stay. Ability to carry 50 pounds of equipment up and down slopes and walking as much as two miles a day over rough ground. Ability to evaluate data and understand analysis of environmental data. Use of Microsoft Office and other software.
