It may seem like a small task to some, but keeping every Airman in peak health is key to the Air Force’s ability to defend the nation. As an Air Force Public Health Officer, your mission will be to prevent, reduce and control the incidence of communicable diseases and occupational illnesses among Air Force personnel at home and abroad while working in garrison or deployed. You’ll work with an elite medical team in state-of-the-art facilities, elevating your career to the next level.
Job Responsibilities:
- Promote public health principles through a variety of methods to include monitoring of disease trends, enforcing food safety practices and sanitation standards in food service and public facilities.
- Daily duties could include preventive medicine, communicable disease control, advising commanders on military public health issues, directing food programs and overseeing the deployment of medical-screening programs.
Job Requirements:
Qualification & Experience:
- Must be willing to relocate
- Completion of eight-week Officer Training School
- Must be a U.S. citizen between the ages of 18 and 41
- Must have obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD), Master of Science in Public Health or Master of Public Health (MSPH/MPH) from an accredited institution
