Job Description:

This is an Interdisciplinary position and may be filled by any of the following series: Architect 0808, Civil Engineer 0810, Mechanical Engineer 0830, General Engineer 0801, or Electrical Engineer 0850. This position is located in the Engineering and Construction Branch, located in Tulsa, OK.
This position may be filled at any grade level: the normal line of progression is filled at the GS-11 or at the target GS-12. Promotion is at the discretion of management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce. About the Position: As a Senior Civil Engineer, employee is responsible for the design of both military and multipurpose civil works projects utilizing computer-aided design and drafting (CADD).This is a Civil Engineer, GS-0810-12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Construction Division, located Tulsa OK. Responsibilities Review directives, technical information, design criteria and other available data preparatory to the accomplishment of the design. Prepare designs, amendments, planning studies, and modifications of the civil features of work using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) technology and civil software packages Plan work to be performed, including the preparation of design analyses for military projects or Design Documentation Reports for civil works projects for the civil design features.

Job Requirements:

  • Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration. For example, an applicant who attains registration through a State Board’s eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be rated eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions.
  • Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination, or any other written test required for professional registration, by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
  • Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and that included the courses specified in A above. The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program.
