The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Dental Assistant (GS-0681-05) to work the 72nd Medical Group (MDG), Tinker AFB, OK. In this position, you will serve as a dental assistant performing a variety of supportive technical and expanded function duties in the delivery of dental treatment to authorized beneficiaries.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs chair side dental assisting duties.
• Performs expanded function dental assistant duties.
• Performs a variety of administrative duties related to dental activities.
• Performs general dental infection control and safety procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of dental terminology and administrative requirements for proper record keeping procedures to maintain patient dental health records, and patient scheduling.
• Skill in operating and adjusting dental radiographic equipment in accordance with accepted radiation safety standards and processing dental radiographs.
• Skill and dexterity in manipulating a variety of instruments and equipment while performing dental assistant procedures.
• Knowledge of dental science such as oral anatomy, oral physiology and histology, the principles and techniques of dental assisting, and dental instruments and materials.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques sufficient to sterilize dental instruments and equipment.
• US Citizenship is required
• Must acquire and maintain certification in Basic Life Support.
